EDI

What is EDI?
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a means of electronically transferring business documents between the computer systems of two different companies. EDI reduces manual administration and the amount of paper circulating within each company.

It saves time and money by minimising human error, facilitating smoother communications between companies and allowing the easier updating of information. Document transfer is usually effected using the XML or EDIFACT standard formats.

How do you benefit from EDI invoicing and bookings?
* The risk of human error during document handling is drastically reduced.
* Administration costs are slashed - one survey shows that with EDI, the average handling time for an invoice tumbled from 18 to only 2 minutes.
* You don't repeat input - you use your own routing/booking system to create/receive all messages.
* You can, by connecting a vehicle to one of our sailings, automatically send a booking request.
* Booking confirmations - including booking number - go directly from our system to yours.
* You can electronically receive service time information directly to your system.

EDI is a proven cost-cutting solution for high-volume shippers working with advanced traffic control and planning systems.
