Amended bunker surcharge as a result of unforeseen high oil price
Over the past twelve months the price of oil has almost doubled and has for a while cost a little over USD 100 per barrel. The market?s experts and analysts believe that the price will continue to rise. At what level we?ll see a stabilisation in the future is something nobody knows.
Because of this unforeseeable development and the dramatically increased costs for Stena Line we are unfortunately forced to increase our bunker surcharge from 4 July on four routes: Oslo-Frederikshavn, Göteborg-Kiel, Göteborg-Travemünde and Karlskrona-Gdynia.
As an example, calculated at today?s USD exchange rate and an oil price of USD 115 per barrel the new bunker surcharge will be SEK 58 per meter or EUR 6.3 per meter.
As previously our model is fully transparent and available at www.stenalinefreight.com. It?s updated every three months and the next update, where the full scale of the new bunker surcharge is included, will be conducted on 4 July.
